Merlot is a soft, warm, full bodied red wine. It is heavily oaked
and has the flavor and aroma of plums, black cherries and chocolate.
An important Bordeaux type red variety that has skyrocketed in popularity in recent years. The wines are often similar to Cabernet Sauvignon with which it is often blended. Maturing earlier than Cabernet Sauvignon, they may be generally consumed and enjoyed as younger wines. |
